Now, THIS is War!

That is, SOCK WARS II. And I am a veteran of last year's inaugeral war. So I should know better. But I needed to build up my strength after dealing with being a little green around the gills, ugh. So here I am. As my cohort admonished me, however, I must get back in the ranks and knit to kill.

Each sock warrior is assigned a target. Therefore, each has an assassin. Knit to kill, send the weapon of death. When the death strike has been received (socks in the mail), target has been assassinated. I have received my Top Secret Sock Wars II Assassination Dossier with my assignment. I must go.

Just wanted to let you know. 'Cos War is Hell. And this is War!

janice: Thanks for the good wishes, Janice. Crochet can be fun. I have a couple of works in progress that are looking for me to pick up the hook again. (PS If Donna asks, you did not see me here!) ;)

Now what can I say as regards this hmm hmm? er.. good luck er... no that could be double edged, hmm er... what caliber needles do you use?

Also remember wind and temperature all have a bearing on the trajectory especially wind. That said your spotter should help with that. Good luck on knitting your target!!!!

I'll keep this in the QT the hush hush, loose lips sink ships and so do knitting needles on an inflatable boat......

cal: Thank you for your sage advice. Weapons include 2.5 mm double-pointed bamboo needles. I unfortunately chose a yarn that is more challenging than I knew at the time of acquisition. But I am forging ahead! Hmm, maybe if I sharpen the tips a bit more...

Will post pics when I make some major progress (had a setback already--am hiding in the underbrush 'til I catch up).

katie: Thanks! Scarves are a great canvas for stitch patterns. One of my favourite scarf patterns is at knitty.com. Look for the Wavy scarf. :)

Nina how goes the sock war??

Nina said...

fotoface: LOL, that's right, they don't call me Wickedpointy for nothing!

janice: I am still alive, but perhaps not for long. I caught another break tonight--futbol practice cancelled, so I can finish my Socks of Doom. I will post photos early this evening (my time). :)

Nina, What is happening on the Sockwar front? All line of communication seems to be down... Are you still with us? I may have to release the pigeon if all else fails.
Have you run out of sheep yet ;-)

I had put the kettle for a cup of tea and a chat... Hello Nina, Nina are you there?

Bye

Annie

I have returned, at last. :) It's like coming home.

Happy New Year to you all!

Dan and Donna: Thank you for the Thanksgiving holiday wishes!

Isadora: LOL, Sock Wars just sounds so contrary to everyday thinking, doesn't it? Except for all those pointy sticks...

Annie: Thank you. :) So glad you haven't given up on me, ha-ha.

Katie: I have caught up a bit, and will visit again soon. Happy New Year to you, too!
